Honors: Anthony (Tony) Tonzello 1939-2008 Elite Guard 64-66: We just
recently learned from member George Goodwin that Tony passed away in Florida
on Feb 17, 2008. Tony served on the SAC Elite Guard Drill team during his
time at Offutt. Please join me in a final salute to a SAC Elite Guard
brother. Further details will be posted in the

Charles J. Lee 1938-2008: It is with sadness that I
report that Charlie passed away on Feb 1, 2008 with his wife Margaret and
family by his side. Charlie was laid to rest on Feb 3, with full military
honors by the Barksdale AFB Honor Guard. May our SAC Elite Guard
brother rest in peace. (Additional information will be placed in our

Godwin, 1956-1961: We have just learned of the passing of one of
the original members of Detachment "A" later known as the SAC Elite Guard. DeWayne was born in 1933 and died Aug 27th 2007 in Queen City,

| 001 | 01 Jan 08 | Happy New Year: As I look back at last years Blotter I note it was our third full year of blotter entry's. When I review each year I note the building history of this fledgling association, the individuals we have located along the way , many who we have regained friendships along with making new ones and the sadness of losing our old friends. Our blotter also tracks the inroads we have made in leaving a permanent footprint of the association through its projects that pay tribute to the men and women who wore the SAC Elite Guard Blue Beret.. I was and still am proud to have been a member of the SAC Elite Guard. I look forward to seeing you all again in 2008 when we meet in Omaha to "Post the Guard" Happy New Year 2008. (BM) |
