We received a letter Friday from Lavern Gardner, mother of Gregory Gardner who in 1962 at 13 yrs of age was given honorary status as a SAC Elite Guardsman.  He was suffering from Cerebral Palsy from birth.  In her letter she said he lost his fight for life at age 58. 

Many of you will remember Greg from his visit to Offutt in 1962 where he was given a complete tour of the base, visited with General Power and given a complete SAC Elite Guard uniform and made an honorary member.

Though the love and attention of Greg's mother and father he lived his life with his parents where he continued to enjoy his hobby of collecting military  memorabilia.
